Waterford - Tall Ships Race - 2011
The purpose of this trip was to satisfy a long-held desire to see the tall ships in full sail. A desire which remains unsatisfied. The ships came into and left Waterford Quay, under power, with furled sails
remained like that
until the race start, which was off Hook Head, a long way out to sea, lost in the haze. We tried to get seats on a boat to follow them out, but were unable to do so. With that wonderful thing - hindsight - we should obviously have booked one a long time before we went.
Never mind, I would probably have been sea-sick :-)
